More Choo-Choo Pork
Cost of the Hiawatha Line was about 750 million. Northstar? About 500 million, Central Corridor right now at 932 million, so far we are at an estimated 2.182 billion dollars. A line between St. Paul & Rochester is being proposed, and I don't have the figures for that right now.
Add to it, the Minneapolis to Duluth line which is making concrete progress as we speak. That line has a history. It failed miserably once before. The definition of insanity is repeating the same thing over and over, expecting different results. Uh, why then would a Minneapolis to Duluth line even be considered? Oh yeah, the lunatics are running the asylum.
The projected cost: 350 million. Add in the additional 300,000 for the feasability study, and the 118,000 already paid to a consulting firm owned by Elwyn Tinklenberg. You know Elwyn. He's running for congress, attempting to unseat Michele Bachmann. Elwyn is a Democrat. Does anyone smell something rotten in the air? This massive spending spree has the blessing of another powerful DFLer, Rep. Jim "Porky" Oberstar.
So for just this unnecessary project, we are looking at 350,418,000.00. Add that to the 2.182 billion already spent and/or appropriated, and that gives us a figure of 2.532 billion plus.
It must be time for breakfast. I smell bacon.
