Al Sharpton should be arrested
And charged with inciting a riot.
Calls for Justice at NYC Vigil for GroomNEW YORK -- An angry crowd shouted "No justice, no peace!" Some called for the ouster of the city's police commissioner. Many counted off to 50, the number of rounds that are estimated to have been fired by police at three unarmed men, killing one on his wedding day.
…..
But none of that stemmed the fury of a community outraged by the shootings.
"We cannot allow this to continue to happen," the Rev. Al Sharpton said at the gathering outside Mary Immaculate Hospital, where one of the two wounded men was in critical condition. "We've got to understand that all of us were in that car."
Um…Al…I wasn’t in that car…
Al, what we cannot continue to allow to happen is allowing people like you to jump to conclusions! For crying out loud, you are assuming that this was a case of police brutality simple because this guy was black…but we don’t have all the facts yet…so how can you possibly know WHY these guys were shot?
The Star Tribune is reporting some information that I find interesting:In all, five undercover police officers fired 50 bullets at the car, killing Sean Bell, 23, who was to be married Saturday. Joseph Guzman, 31, and Trent Benefield, 23, were injured. Moments earlier, the three had left a bachelor party at Club Kalua, a strip club under police surveillance in Queens.
The undercover detective who fired first had been monitoring the group in the club. Once outside, the detective heard Guzman say, "Yo, get my gun, get my gun," as he headed with the others to his car, according to police. The undercover officer followed, then stood in front of their car.
According to the person briefed on the officer's account, the officer, his badge around his neck, then pulled out his gun and ordered the occupants to show their hands. They did not comply, the person said, but gunned the car forward, hitting the undercover officer and, seconds later, an unmarked police minivan. The undercover officer fired the first of 11 shots, yelling, "He's got a gun! He's got a gun!"
So, if I were to only go off of this section of the article, I have some questions for you Al.
1) Why was this strip club under surveillance? In the Washington Post piece one of the dancers was getting in the car to go to “diner” with the three men. Now, I am certain that it is possible that a dance could have “friends” that frequent her club…but, and I’m not saying anything here…I’m just saying that this sounds suspicious
2) The next question is, why did one of the officers hear ANYTHING about a gun?
3) Why did the three try to run? If an officer has a badge that is exposed, and they were told to get out of the car and didn’t comply, what were they running from?
4) And, Al, the last question I have for you is…if you are an undercover cop, who has identified yourself as such, while wearing your badge, and the suspects try to run you down…don’t you think that you have a right to protect yourself?
See Al, right now there are MANY more questions than there are answers…and right now you are just playing up the race card in order to….what? Get your sorry mug on TV, or are you trying to make this into the next Rodney King?
Get over yourself Al…
